Dazzle & FizZ at king charles'
coronation concert
Following numerous security checks and a large delivery of plants from The Royal Gardens, last Thursday the Dazzle & Fizz Team left our Guildford HQ for Windsor Castle!
We were incredibly proud to have been asked to style the Talent Village at the Coronation Concert and wanted to take this special opportunity to acknowledge King Charles’s remarkable contributions to the natural world and environmental conservatism during his tenure as Prince of Wales.
The Concert celebrated The King’s passion for the Arts, something that couldn’t be closer to our own hearts, and what a concert it was! We were especially proud to see so many Dazzle & Fizz friends and clients performing in one of the most imaginatively staged productions that many of us have ever seen. For the first ever major concert to be staged at the Castle, it was truly a night to remember.
As seen during the opening of the BBC’s coverage of the Concert, we designed the Talent Village to reflect the newly-crowned King and included design elements such as bird feeders, plant & vegetable seeds for the artists to take home, seasonal planters filled with William & Catherine Sweet Peas from Windsor Royal Gardens, details from the Coronation Emblem and miniature wishing wells with strawberry plants.
sustainable styling
With sustainability at the forefront of our styling, we produced a range of items in-house from personalised welcome notes for each of the artists, commemorative coasters from offcuts of wood, through to soft furnishings for their dressing rooms, alongside planting in the main areas (that featured in most of the BBC’s interviews with the artists!).
As Stella McCartney noted in her spoken word piece at the concert: “Our actions are jeopardising the very fabric of life. There is a pressing need for change . . . We need to leave a safe and sustainable world for all generations to come.”
At Dazzle & Fizz, producing sustainable events is just as important to us as creating epic events. We have always been ahead of the curve regarding environmentally friendly events, banning single-use plastics at our events nearly a decade ago. Since then, we have gone on to upcycle, repurpose or reuse over 80% of our sets and props and always seek to use sustainable materials.
On breaking down the event today we were thrilled to hear how much our work was enjoyed, with requests for additional commemorative pieces from a number of Artists – our Glowforge is working almost 24hrs a day!
Sworn to secrecy, and working on the Concert at the same time as delivering 5 other private and corporate events in the same week, meant that every single member of the team got involved but in fact, no one wanted to miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And whilst we can’t say too much, we’ll be at another big event coming to your TV screens this weekend so keep an eye out for the Dazzle & Fizz team . . .
